The intersection of food tourism and wellness travel has become more pronounced as consumers have become more health-conscious and savvy with their choices.

Recognizing this consumer shift, WFTA recently created the Wellness and Health practice area. Leadership includes Camille Hoheb, Chair, and Patrizia Bortolin, Co-Chair. Both are Certified WFTA Ambassadors and award-winning consultants in their own fields of expertise. Ms. Hoheb focuses on wellness tourism development while Ms. Bortolin focuses on wellness programming at resorts.

The Wellness practice area is aimed at fostering education among travelers and travel professionals with the goal to partner with aligned associations, observances, and groups to create awareness about WFTA and the Wellness Practice area.

Within a few short months of its inception, the Wellness practice area partnered with Global Wellness Day and World Wellness Weekend and is seeking other collaborations and strategic alliances. Additionally, the Wellness practice is available to help destinations build food tourism programs with a wellness bent or wellness programs that have food as their cornerstone.
